1- Do you know what happened to me last night ?
                                  (action terminée)

2- I was having a nice cup of tea in bed when the lights went out.
     (action qui était en train des se produire)             (action soudaine,courte)

3- I jumped out of bed in my pyjamas and ran to the telephone.
     (actions terminées)

4- I was looking to the telephone book in the dark when I heard a horrible         scream.
      (en train de )                                                         (action soudaine courte)

5- It was the neighbour's voice.

6- He told me thieves came into his house and ran away.

la dernière phrase est plus complexe car il n'y a aucune indication de temps.
J'aurais mis  "had come"  "had ran away".....  (pluperfect car passé antérieur à "He told) "were running away" ça me semble bizarre mais possible....Si ça avait été and the police were running after them.. alors, oui . Car il ya une action qui était en cours....
