         Little Rock is in Arkansas;

    2- Who were the Little Rock Nine ? Explain their name.
         The Little Rock Nine were the first black teenagers to attend  all-white Cental High       School in Little Rock. So they got the nickames of the Little Rock Nine because            they were nine black teenagers attending to that school in Little Rock

       The Little Rock Nine joined Central High School in 1957.

    4- Which previous case had made segregation in schools illegal ?
        Brown V. Board of Education outlawed segegation in schools in 1954

    5- What problems did black students have to face ...
         They had to face intimidation and fear. (They were intimidated and frightened)

    6- What happened on the first day ? How did President Einsenhover have to                     intervene ?
       The first day, the black students had to face the state's National Guards which were      ordered by the Governor of Akansas  to block them from entering the school.
    President Eisenhower had to send federal troops to protect the students.

    7- What hapenned after the first day ?
        After the first day, on their way to school, white people insulted,taunted them, sent them death treats. An old women even spat at one of the fifteen years old girl.

    8- What was The Little Rock Nine's reaction ?
    The Little Rock Nine  never gave up and several went on to graduate.They challenged the racist system and defeated it.

    Mais c'était seulement le début de leur calvaire. Chaque matin sur le chemin de l'école, des foules en colère de blancs  raillaient (ou "se moquaient") et insultaient les Neuf Little Rock-- ils avaient même reçu des menaces de mort. Une des étudiantes de quinze ans, Elizabeth Eckfor raconta "J'essayais de trouver un visage amical quelque part dans cette populace (foule hargneuse).....j'ai examiné le visage d'une vieile femme, et elle semblait avoir un visage bienveillant (un gentil visage), mais quand je l'ai regardée de nouveau elle a craché sur moi." Aussi terrorrisés étaient-ils les étudiants ne laisseraient pas tomber (n'abandonneraient pas, ne renonceraient pas) et plusieurs continuèrent pour obtenir leurs diplômes de Central High. Neuf adolescents noirs défièrent un système raciste et le vainquirent.


    Vu l'heure tardive, j'ai fait au mieux !!! Du mal avec la pièce jointe trop grande et à l'envers en zoomant !!! mais pas grave, c'est fait sans trop d'erreurs j'espère
